My Days in Penang....
What I can say bout my trip to Penang was just...SPLENDID...just splendid. I havent had so much fun in months! Err...even though I do felt like I didn't have that kind of fun in ages! Oh wait....the trip to PD with my coursemate was awesome so, I can't say that I did not have fun in ages. Boohoo..
Ok, I went there Saturday morning. My bus departed at about 10.45 although it was printed 10.30am on the ticket. But if ur a regular bus user, u'll notice that bus will NEVER depart on time. They will always wait for the bus to be full. That's from my own experience.
Anyway, back to Penang story, I arrived in Penang, specifically at Komtar around 3 pm. It just stopped raining and I was forced to wait for Haniza to pick me up. The traffic was so heavy that it took her nearly an hour just to reach me. At first I thought she was coming to pick me up all by herself, but it seems that she brought the whole circus. I meant by her family. They just came back from a kenduri. Aishah was already in the van.
We went to some taman permainan so that the kids could play for a while. After that, we were brought to some place to eat in Relau. The place has such nice view. It's on top of the hill and u can see Balik Pulau from above. It was just outstanding. The cool breeze was another bonus. And then, talk about food. U can get anything there. I meant by any kind of Malaysian Food.
I ordered Mee Udang and Char Kuey Teow and finished both plates in a row. I was so stuffed that I passed on dinner. Errr...but I did ate a few ulas of durian that night tho'.
The next day, we went to the seaside and had our breakfast there. What a great place to have picnic especially when there's not a lot of people around. We had nasi lemak and again, durian. Haniza, Aishah and I even strolled along the beach and just chatted about our school days.
At noon, Haniza's brother drove Aishah and I to the ferry jetty. We actually planned to go to Rizal's house in SP. And the real plan was to reach his house before 12, but since our driver took so long to get ready, our plan had to be delayed.
As we arrive, Jan was already there with his brother. I searched for the ticket back to KL first on the same day but I only manage to get a bus at 4 pm whereas I planned to get back at 6.
Since, it was already 1pm when we arrived at Butterworth, the time left for me to go to Rizal's house is only 3 hours. But the journey itself took ne hour since his dad is the Estate Manager and 'ulunya rumah dia...jauh betul'. But the house is huge and above the hill. There are plantations around it. There are also local fruit trees there. At first, he was thinking of taking us lunch 'ikan bakar' in SP, but since we could only spend an hour there, we again, was treated with some juicy durians from his own tree. The durian was delicious but too bad I couldnt eat that much cos I don't want to have an upset stomach on my journey back to KL.
So, at 4.05pm, I board the bus which luckily did not depart yet and arrived in KL at 10pm because of the heavy traffic on the way back.
Even though I only manage to spend 24 hour in Penang and SP, I do find it such a great trip that I would definitely go for another one......Thanx to my host...u guys rock!
